Counselling and Psychotherapy in the heart of King’s Lynn

People arrive at The Hearth from all sorts of starting points. Sometimes it's anxiety that won't quiet down, depression or low-mood that won’t shift or a sense of being stretched thin by everything at once.

Sometimes it's a difficulty from the past that's begun asking to be looked at; trauma, intrusive memories or repeating patterns. Other times people who have had some bad news, a shock or received a diagnosis of some kind that they want to help to integrate and process.

Sometimes it's a relationship that's struggling, and you want a space of your own to think it through.

Frequent and normal, but troubling human experiences of grief, loss, chronic illness, life-transition and change can all be held and examined in a therapeutic relationship.

The first step is often the hardest one. You don't have to know exactly what you're looking for to begin therapy.

Whatever brought you here, you’re welcome.

Let’s start where you are…

Ruth is a qualified, BACP registered counsellor working with an integrative approach. Her core training is in Transactional Analysis (psychotherapy) and she incorporates trauma-informed and neuro-affirmative approaches.

TA is an evidence-based modality of therapy which has its roots in psychoanalysis and psychodynamic theory, but also can incorporate cognitive-behavioral elements.

Somatic awareness, processing and trans-personal/spiritual material can also be incorporated offering a holistic frame, guided by your needs. Your whole being is considered and your therapy path will be defined collaboratively.
